"Honestly I don’t know where to start. I’m an electrician and worked in hvac including mvhr installation for several years. Bought an Aircycle 1.2 in mid 2017 for a project that was cancelled and so it was not installed until 2025 in my own home. So far: The unit made the house cold. I mean cold. It also often did not help with condensation. It turned out after some trial and error : 1. The summer bypass was permanently fully open in summer and winter. I had to block the bypass as it just constantly drives open when manually shut 2. The humidity auto boost works only intermittently. As in for 2-3 months it’s fine, then stops until reset via power cycle. Sometimes even after reset it won’t work then months later will randomly start up again. 3. At 12 months post install the extract fan has failed. It was intermittently stop/starting for a week but now will not run at all. It is then that you find out that there are non-serviceable units. Apparently the fans are not replaceable. The core is not accessible for cleaning. There is no wiring/electronics diagram is present inside the unit or online as you find on almost all other electrical and electronic equipment to allow for some diagnostics. I reached out to Brookvent for tech support and/or wiring/circuit diagrams in June 2025 via the contact-us form and hello @ bro***ent uk listed in my manual and on the website but nothing came of that. I managed to get a response via WhatsApp chat but from someone in basic support not to tech support. My email address has been ‘passed on’ but I had no response since. As it is I had what turned out to be a very expensive extract fan for a year which even when it was working didn’t achieve better that 75% heat recovery (supply air method) or less than 50% using the exhaust air method. Did I buy a lemon? Maybe. Am I annoyed about it? Definitely."
