"I’ve just bought a house which has a 20 year guarantee for a DPC by Gary McKibbin. Trying to speak to him for his help as there’s demo in the house. Totally ignoring all my calls, texts and voice mails. Awful service. Avoid !!"
"Came out to us and seemed very knowlegable. Then he vanished. We had a team of builders waiting for him to do the work he had promised. He wouldn't anwer my increasingly desperate calls. The builders were left kicking their heels and I was paying for their time. When I finally got him on the phone he told me without apology that he had decided to move on to another job he had been offered. I find it hard to believe that anyone so unprofessional could still be in business."
"We were recommended Gary by two well established architects we know but the recent reviews we saw could have put us off. Half our basement had been successfully damp proofed by the previous owner some years ago and we discovery it was Gary that completed that work. We invited Gary to take a look at the rest of the basement which he had originally recommended being done, but the previous owner for unknown reasons did not proceed. We engaged Gary to dig out and install channels to take the water away which he and his excellent team did in record time. The damp has been solved and we are delighted with the result, replastered, and insulated too. His price was very good for the scale of the work done. Highly recommend for this type of work."
"Gary was recommended by the estate agent we were buying our house from. He did damp proofing in 2 rooms just over 1 year ago. We found more damp in the property and called him. He came out 9 months later! He agreed part of it had broken down and he would be back out to sort it quickly as my daughter is disabled. That was Feb..im still waiting. His 10 year guarantee isn't worth the paper it's written on!"
"AVOID AVOID. Attached is a photo of his declaration that there was no woodworm in our house as allegedly one of NI's top woodworm specialists. Turns out he didn't properly look - didn't pull back any carpets - no idea where he thought he'd find it! I could have done the same survey with no training. It's morally and ethically wrong. Other photos show the woodworm we found (in a house with no woodworm) and the destruction and additional cost of stripping the top floor back to joists whilst living in the house to kill it. I'm told I can't sue him - note his disclaimer - places he looked. So this is his review."
