"I would not recommend McGeehan Surveyors. I hired Joseph to conduct a RICS Level 2 survey on the property I was sale agreed on. The survey concluded that roof structure, roof coverings and rainwater pipes and gutters were assessed as ‘green’, meaning that ‘no repair is needed’. Once we had settled into our newly purchased property, I noticed that the rear of our garage roof is visibly slanted on the right hand side. This is due to rotting wood and poor drainage. When I referred back to the images Joesph took of my property during the conduction of the survey, it is visibly noticeable how abnormally slanted the garage roof is (photos from the survey attached). I contacted a roofer to quote the repair, and it was going to cost me over £2,000. I contacted Joseph about this concern and he disagreed that the roof is slanted and ‘will not comment further’. He then, in my opinion, tried to scare me off by discussing that if took my claim to court, I would have to prove the surveyors complete incompetency, rather than this individual misdiagnosis. The report McGeehan surveyors conducted misinformed me on the quality of my garage roof. I have been left with a £2,200 repair bill and they are holding no accountability for their misdiagnosis. Do not hire."
