I had asked them to take special care when lifting the exposed varnished floorboards for woodworm treatment ( the boards are original to the 1886 house ). "I first engaged with Toners for a timber and damp/rot survey that was needed to secure the mortgage on our house. The survey was extremely thorough and picked up on all the problems in the house (which there were many) so we knew what to expect. We went ahead with the purchase and booked the guys in for the work. The list was substantial - chipping back to brick outside and rerendering, replacing wood, treating wood, pointing, replacing beams, excavating tons of rubble from under the house, structural work, fixing a bay roof, guttering, improving air flow, resealing windows etc etc loads more. Too much to list. They were great to work with and it all went to plan. They finished on time, kept me in the loop and were very considerate. They are really hard workers and offered solutions wherever problems arose. It's a great team. Our new neighbours actually commented on their work ethic too, so I've passed the details on. Can't recommend them enough. Cheers to the Toner crew! PS I was originally put onto another "damp specialist" by the estate agent before buying the house. He was "easy to pay and knows his stuff"...nope...complete cowboy. Just be careful who you hire and make sure they're professionals. I dodged a bullet."
